My Second Post! ("through the heart?" - Tish)

So why bother bloggling? Well, I just suspect it is about the right time to give a little something back, a loving spoonful of the truly wonderful life I enjoy here ("Yeh, you and Jimmy Stewart!" - Tish) by making an honest attempt to encourage anyone less fortunate that it really is perfectly possible to live at the edge, then carry on regardless - to live out the dream! And, just by the byways, this old blog might also provide some useful information, some handy background colour and maybe even a little entertainment for any reader with nouse; anyone who is, as they say - not far from this neck of the woods - simpatico. Capiche!

Well, here goes...

Dinner last night was simply a tour de force.
To begin with, Tish delivered a starter of outstanding originality: seared larks' tongues on Ryvita smeared in foie gras, followed by a dry-type bouillabaisse in a shrimp foam (fish course); a stunning main course of well-hung wild duck on a bed of coarse cabbage and mashed imported Jersey Royals - yet trumped everything with the best herb-infused creme caramel ever tasted by man or beast.
Eat your heart out, Posh!

And the reason for the posh nosh was a little bit of social networking: VIPs - Yves & Danielle (local politicos) with Alain and his partner, Zou. Alain is master of French broadband (The Dark Arts), a handy contact hereabouts. Only trouble was everyone parleyed in French all night and by bedtime, my brain had turned into a crêpe Suzette. I almost felt empathy with that Czech weirdo!

Unfortunately, this afternoon Alain was away on urgent business when my internet went down. Hence the reason for my 2 posts today.
Suis désolé!
